Then, with his wife's blessing, he impregnates her maid ....
Then God decides he doesn't like the look of people .......
ok so Sarah is now 90 years old, and has had a tough life ..
walking to Egypt and back again .....

Time for a bit of incest ....
And then we're back with Abraham, who again pretends wife is his sister ...
And the king grabs her for his harem, (despite the fact that she is 90 years old)
But now it turns out that she actually is his sister ....

It also tells us that Abraham did not really lie when he said that Sarah was his sister, since she was his half-sister. Also note that nowhere in the two passages Abraham is accused of lying! This is a quite interesting fact. In any way, it is clear that our definition of incest in today's western society, is not the same as it was in that time and place. Still, Deuteronomy 27:22 clearly states that for a man to marry his father's daughter (as Abraham did) is a sin!
